LULAC Launches Website To Help The Latino Community Access Critical COVID-19 Information And Resources
03/30/2020
The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is proud to announce the launch of the LULAC@Home website to provide critical information and resources during the COVID-19 pandemic. LULAC specifically created this tool for Latino communities across the country to remain connected and obtain relevant information with the click of a button. The webpage offers the Latino community up-to-the-minute and streamlined information that users can access from a computer, laptop, or mobile device, in English and Spanish. LULAC@Home is organized into the following sections:
LULAC President Domingo Garcia issued the following statement on the release of the LULAC@Home portal: “We know that our community has a lot of questions during this unprecedented and difficult moment. That is why we created this website, to house the critical information that our Latino community can use in this time of crisis. LULAC is working diligently on helping address these needs. As a first step, we’ve created this central place where people can go to learn more about the resources available to them during the coronavirus pandemic. “For more than 90 years, LULAC Members across the country have been working together to meet hard challenges with concrete solutions. LULAC continues to fight for equity in sick leave, unemployment compensation, compensation from the COVID-19 Rescue Bills in Congress, and ensuring that Latino and minority-owned businesses are supported. We are fighting to ensure that COVID-19 testing and treatment are 100% covered by our federal government for every individual. We are working to ensure that using health care services won't make them a ‘public charge,’ and used against those applying for U.S. residency. No one can be safe if our most vulnerable are left without testing and treatment, or discriminated against for seeking help. “We thank all of those who have supported LULAC throughout the years and have demonstrated faith and trust in our mission to build community and care for those most in need. That is what makes this all possible. Please follow CDC guidelines and visit this webpage for more information on how to take care of yourself and your loved ones during these uncertain times. We wish you and your family safety, health and well-being. Let’s look ahead knowing that together we will continue to build a better future.”
