ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

Subject to conditions prescribed by the University of California, Irvine Medical Center, sealed bids for a Lump-Sum Contract are invited for the following project:

 

B35, Occupational Health Clinic Renovation

Project No.  994688

 

ESTIMATED CONSTRUCTION COST:              $1,200,000

PROJECT DURATION:                                     120 calendar days

 

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF WORK:  The project will be constructed in 2 phases:

Phase 1:  Renovate roughly 1,725 SF of vacant space to create an Occupation Health Clinic to include:

·       (1) Treatment/Exam Rm.

·       (4) Exam Rms.

·       Immunization Rm w/ 3 chairs

·       Providers Workroom for 3-4 Staff.

·       Nurses/MA Workstation for 4-5 Staff

·       Patient Restroom

·       Storage

·       Vitals Alcove

Phase 2: Renovate  ~700 SF of occupied space to cosmetically improve the following:

·       Manager’s Office

·       Hoteling Office

·       Reception desk. 

Project shall include: Wall Construction, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, Ceilings, Lighting, Low Voltage, Casework, Flooring, Painting and other finishes. 

 

PROCEDURES:  Bid documents are available beginning on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. upon request to Kim Kerwin @ khau@hs.uci.edu.

BIDDER QUALIFICATIONS:  The successful Contractor will be required to have the following California contractor’s license (s): active at the time of submission of the Bid:

B, General Building Contractor

Bidders will be required to submit a completed Statement of Qualifications for themselves and their MEP subcontractors.  Bidders that do not submit a completed Statement of Bidder’s Qualifications or do not meet the University’s requirements for relevant project experience, financial ability to complete the project, safety record and professional conduct will not be eligible for award.

MANDATORY PRE-BID CONFERENCE:  The Pre-Bid Conference and Job Walk will be conducted on Monday, November 4, 2024 at 8:30 am at 1 Medical Plaza Dr., Irvine 92617 Contractors arriving after 8:30 am will not be eligible to participate in the bid process as a General Contractor.  Only bidders who participate in both the pre-bid conference and the job walk in their entirety will be allowed to bid on the Project as General Contractors.

 

BID SUBMITTAL REQUIREMENTS:  Sealed bids will be received only at: UCI Medical Center, Planning Administration, Building 27, Room 136, 101 The City Drive South, Orange, CA 92868, on or before 2:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2024. 

 

Every effort will be made to ensure that all persons have equal access to contracts and other business opportunities with the University within the limits imposed by law or University policy.  Each Bidder may be required to show evidence of its equal employment opportunity policy.  The successful Bidder and its subcontractors will be required to follow the nondiscrimination requirements set forth in the Bidding Documents and to pay prevailing wage at the location of the work.

 

The work described in the contract is a public work subject to section 1771 of the California Labor Code.

 

No contractor or subcontractor, regardless of tier, may be listed on a Bid for, or engage in the performance of, any portion of this project, unless registered with the Department of Industrial Relations pursuant to Labor Code section 1725.5 and 1771.1.

 

This project is subject to compliance monitoring and enforcement by the Department of Industrial Relations.

 

The successful Bidder shall pay all persons providing construction services and/or any labor on site, including any University location, no less than the UC Fair Wage (defined as $15 per hour as of 10/1/17) and shall comply with all applicable federal, state and local working condition requirements.
